Hello! My name is Madalyn Heinz, and I am excited to be joining the St. Dominic School family as the second grade teacher this year!
I grew up on a small hobby farm just south of Northfield in Dundas and graduated from Northfield Public Schools. Across the road from our home was a little country church, and from a young age, faith, learning, and community were important parts of my life. Those values continue to shape who I am today.
I have always known teaching was where I was meant to be. I began by homeschooling my three sons through their elementary years, which sparked my passion for teaching. I later earned my degree in Early Childhood Education from Winona State University and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Minnesota State University Moorhead. I began my teaching career in preschool in Northfield, and this year I am especially excited to join St. Dominic because my youngest son attended school here and had such a wonderful experience. I am grateful for the warm welcome I have already received!
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, and tackling creative projects. I look forward to getting to know my students and their families and sharing a wonderful year together!
