Class Leaders!

Congratulations to Mrs. Hefer’s second grade class.  They were the only class to have one hundred percent participation in turning in funds for the marathon on Friday, September 29th.

Our first grade class now leads the entire school averaging $181.25 per student in donations.

The class to finish with the highest donation average per student will receive an exclusive field trip to Flaherty’s Lanes for an afternoon of bowling fun! (the 7th & 8th grade classes are combined).

Our Preschool and PreKindergarten classes will also compete for the highest per student money average. The class to finish with the highest student average will receive an ice cream and movie party! PreKindergarten currently leads the way averaging $146.90 per student in donations.

What is a School Marathon?
Each year, St. Dominic School joins hundreds of other Catholic schools throughout the country in an annual fundraising Marathon. The purpose is twofold: to show the community what “forming servant leaders” look like and to raise money in support of our school’s mission: inspiring students to excel as confident leaders, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens. We invite our families to join us as we enjoy camaraderie with friends and raise money for our academic programs. When community members see our students’ drive and motivation to help our school, they, in return, desire to support the faith-based formation our school offers each of our students.

How does the Marathon work?
Just like past years, our Marathon is one of St. Dominic School’s

main fundraising events. The funds raised from this year’s Marathon will go towards educational enhancements. This year, our school goal is to raise $35,000. With everyone’s participation, we can achieve this goal!

Our Marathon runs from Tuesday, September 5, 2023, through Friday, October 13, 2023. Throughout this time, individual students and families are encouraged to get out in the community and ask for Marathon pledges.

Additionally, we will come together as a community and walk our school grounds on Friday, October 13, 2023, to fulfill our commitment to our generous community. Parents are encouraged to participate that day alongside students!

Marathon Schedule on Friday, October 13th:
8:15 AM – School Starts & Final Envelopes Turned in and Money Counted
