My name is Joyce Lindstrom. I grew up in South Minneapolis and earned my teaching degree at Mankato State College. I am excited to join the St. Dominic’s staff as a 5th grade Reading teacher and a 5th and 6th grade Literacy teacher.
I began my teaching career in Hastings, MN, where I taught 3rd and 4th grade. I later earned an ESL license from Hamline University in St. Paul and went on to teach English Learners in Burnsville for 11 years. One of the most exciting and rewarding chapters of my career was teaching 5th grade boys at a Catholic international boys’ school in Tokyo, Japan. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching EL at Greenvale Park Elementary School.
In my free time, I enjoy walking my dog and riding the recumbent bike at the Y. I also love having coffee with the friends I’ve made in Northfield. I often return to my old neighborhood in South Minneapolis to walk around the lakes. Most of all, I truly enjoy working with children of all ages.
